E-Fast & Lung Ultrasound
Course Description:
This course provides comprehensive training in Extended Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma (E-FAST) and lung ultrasound. Participants will learn to rapidly assess trauma patients for free fluid, pneumothorax, hemothorax, pleural effusion, and other critical conditions. The curriculum emphasizes standardized scanning protocols, image acquisition, interpretation of normal and pathological findings, and integration into emergency and critical care settings. Hands-on sessions focus on real-time scanning, rapid decision-making, and accurate reporting to enhance patient outcomes in urgent care scenarios.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Perform E-FAST examinations in trauma and emergency settings following standardized protocols.
- Conduct lung ultrasound to detect pneumothorax, pleural effusion, and other thoracic pathologies.
- Identify normal and abnormal findings accurately and efficiently.
- Integrate ultrasound findings into clinical decision-making for emergency and critical care.
- Generate concise, clinically relevant reports for rapid patient management.
